School Accountability Committee (SAC)

The purpose of the School Accountability Committee (SAC) is to provide accountability in an advisory role by informing, encouraging, and creating opportunities for parents and community members to be involved in the planning and evaluation of the school’s instructional programs and quality improvement processes.

The SAC makes recommendations on the school’s budget and performance/improvement plan, and meets at least quarterly to discuss the implementation of the school’s goals, as well as progress related to the school's accreditation contract with the Board of Education.

Final decision-making authority rests with the principal or the individual or group receiving the SAC’s recommendation (e.g., the Superintendent, District Accountability Committee [DAC], or Board of Education).
